【TIFF 2026】Ethan Juan Stars in ARRESTED MEMORY | Eva Chen Interviews Director SABU

During TIFF 2026, Fairchild Radio host Eva Chen sits down with Japanese filmmaker SABU to talk about his latest film, ARRESTED MEMORY, and his collaboration with Taiwanese star Ethan Juan.

The film follows Lee, a celebrated Taipei detective who begins losing his memory after a traumatic investigation. Determined to hide his condition, he takes on a new kidnapping case involving the son of a wealthy Japanese businessman. As his memory continues to fade, he is forced to rely more and more on instinct.

A Taiwan–Japan co-production, ARRESTED MEMORY blends crime, action, dark humour and emotion through SABU’s distinctive filmmaking style.

In this special TIFF conversation, Eva and SABU discuss the Taiwan–Japan collaboration, how he balances violence, humour and emotion, and Ethan Juan’s performance as a detective trying to stay in control while his memory — and his world — begin to fall apart.

Tonight at 8 PM on Young Life
